It's usually one of two separate problems — and they need different fixes.
This is one of the most common questions we hear, and the useful first step is realizing it's actually two different possible problems wearing the same symptom.
Before Google can show your website for anything, it has to find it, crawl it, and add it to its index. New sites, sites without a submitted sitemap, or sites with technical settings accidentally blocking search engines can sit essentially invisible to Google — not ranking poorly, just not indexed at all. You can check this yourself by searching site:yourdomain.com on Google — if nothing shows up, this is likely your issue.
If your site does appear for a site: search but not for the actual terms customers would use, the issue is relevance and competitiveness rather than discovery — your content, structure, or technical health isn't strong enough yet for Google to prioritize you for those specific searches.
For discovery problems: submitting a sitemap through Google Search Console, adding internal links pointing to the page, and making sure nothing is technically blocking indexing. For ranking problems: stronger, more relevant content, better site structure, and often a properly optimized Google Business Profile for local businesses. These are covered in depth in our SEO & Google Visibility service.
Neither problem has an instant fix. Indexing issues can often resolve within days to weeks once corrected. Ranking improvements are genuinely gradual and depend on your competition and starting point — we won't promise a guaranteed timeline, because no honest provider can.
We'll check what Google actually sees and tell you plainly what's going on.
